Weekend Family Vacation to Great Wolf Lodge with helpful tips
Nothing says "Goodbye Summer" like a spur of the moment family vacation to the biggest and best indoor water-park around, GREAT WOLF LODGE!! As a family of six, we know that going anywhere can be hectic and expensive, which is why we love Great Wolf Lodge because everything is in one place.
We usually go at least twice a year, summer and fall, to regroup as a family and create lasting memories. It's always fun looking back as the kids get older on fun times we had,and to see the park in new ways each time we come back. This year we enjoyed the Majestic Bear Suite as a way to give ourselves a bit more room in an attempt to "relax". As parents we all know there was little to no relaxing during our stay.
We also tried out the Paw Passes for each of the kids this time in order to bundle the fun and save. There are plenty of events and activities that our kids love to enjoy, so the Paw Passes help them try a little of everything while saving us money. They each got a new Lodge Character (think Build-A-Bear) a magical game of Magi-Quest, Points at Northern Lights Arcade and much more.
Helpful Tip: Paw Passes save you almost 30% on items you may eventually end up buying anyways through child bribery techniques!
Luckily this trip we had the best of both sides of Great Wolf Lodge, the indoor and outdoor pools were open. The inside water-park is clearly the main attraction of this amazing resort, but most people don't realize there is a large outdoor pool and bar area as well. We used to only visit in the fall until we found out about the outdoor area of the lodge.
Helpful Tip: Sundays and Mondays are not as busy as Saturdays, so plan to do a Saturday-Monday stay.
Each day there are fun activities for the whole family including; dance parties in the main lobby, arts and crafts in the Kid Store, Story Time by the clock tower and so much more. No part of your day will be wasted thanks to the amazing crew at Great Wolf Lodge. Don't feel bad though if a mid day snooze is part of your schedule.
As far as dining, there is the Loose Moose Bar and Grill which offers buffet meals inside the resort as well as the Hungry as a Wolf Pizza shop and Buckets Incredible Craveables serving Burgers and other American fare. Food can be a bit pricey, but the convenience after a long day at the water-park is well worth it.
Helpful Tip: Bring items for breakfast(pop tarts, doughnut, cereal cups) and lunch(sandwiches, lunchables, salads) so you can splurge on dinner in the resort.
No matter how old or young you may be, the entire family is bound to make memories with a quick weekend getaway to Great Wolf. There are plenty of locations to choose from so you can enjoy wherever you are. You can choose to stay one night or more, however we highly suggest two days at least in order to get the best experience.
If you are looking for a quick and easy trip the whole family will love, book your stay now. We can honestly say you won't regret it.
Helpful tip: Groupon offers fantastic deals for the fall season and they decorate the resort for the holidays which you don't want to miss!!!
Enjoy some exciting photos from our mini vacation before the new school year starts for our kids.
