Faith inspired Home decor

October 24, 2016

When we moved into our new home, my husband and I agreed we wanted to take each room in the house and create a welcoming and relaxed environment for our family and our guests. We both love the French Country and Modern Farmhouse Chic decor styles, which makes finding pieces to fit in our home, easy.

I have a love for all things written and will obsessively buy every handwritten wall sign and wooden plaque I come across. My husband finally had to say to Me, “Babe, not every wall can be covered in Worded Signs.” To which I politely disagreed.

While scrolling through Instagram, I came across With These Hands Co. specializing in handmade and scripted wooden signs. I instantly fell in love with owner Daelyn Woods’ penmanship and deep faith. Every piece was a nod to her love of Jesus, which that drew me in. I noticed that she was only making mid sized, to smaller signs and what I was looking for was of a slightly larger scale.

Through emails, I asked Daelyn if she could make a larger wall sign to fit my dining room decor. She didn’t hesitate before saying, “Absolutely!” to which I knew I was in good hands. My husband and I had grown fond of a particular scripture from the bible that fit with our hosting style and sent it to Daelyn.

“They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts” Acts 2:46

My favorite part of working together with Daelyn of With These Hands Co was watching her work step by step. She would send over a new picture with each new stage of work completed. It was as if I had a part in making this sign and it gave it so much more meaning.

Sometimes it’s easy to grab a sign when you’re out and about at stores, believe me I do it all the time. But every once in awhile, it is so nice to know that you had a piece personally made just for you and your home.

I am thankful for the time and work that went into making this beautiful wooden sign for our dining room and look forward to plenty of family dinners around the table looking up at it.
